- Soft Condensed Matter Physics. Non-equilibrium phenomena, disordered systems and glassy behavior, memory formation in matter, elastic manifolds in random media, dynamic criticality.
- Complex Systems. Random networks, statistical inference on random networks, applications of statistical mechanics to combinatorial problems in biology, artificial intelligence/machine learning.
- Evolutionary Biology and Ecology. Evolution of antibiotic resistance in bacteria, memory effects in adaptive evolution, population dynamics.
- Applied Mathematics. Probability theory (incl. rigorous approaches via analysis and measure-theory), combinatorics, dynamical systems.
